TV EXPERIENCE
In 2006 Katie, who comes from Belfast in Northern Ireland, won the title of Formula Una Great Britain at Silverstone representing Red Bull Racing Team where she got to race a mini moto bike with World Champion Kimi Raikonen and the girls even crushed a car with an ex-army tank. This saw her travel to Sao Paulo for the end of season race joining the other 'unas' from around the world.  Following this she did voice-over news snippets for the team’s website and was then asked to co-host Ireland's Red Bull Soapbox Race 2008 alongside BBC Radio 1 DJ Colin Murray with crowds of 30,000 interviewing survivors at the end of the track. This lead to her presenting Live At The Limelight, a music series for UTV showcasing Irish talent, she introduced the bands and interviewed them backstage in the green room.  Katie has guest presented on the Belfast Telegraph TV including an exclusive interview with David Coulthard during his visit to Belfast for an F1 car demo.  She presented the first Paddy Rally for RPM on Setanta Ireland, UTV and MotorsTV channels, interviewing familiar faces such as MP Sammy Wilson and Gerry Armstrong and teamed up with Mr Paparazzi Darren Lyons in a lambourghini with an onboard camera for the day.  Katie also co-presented the Beat Generation, an online Irish teenage video magazine and was a contributer presenter completing challenges (moved) on RTE Teens TV show ‘The Rumour Room’ (bit was moved).  Katie currently presents IN! magazine TV, Northern Ireland’s biggest selling social monthly, interviewing the likes of Calum Best and Girl’s Aloud Nadine Coyle at red carpet events, adds a bit of glamour to Cage Contender on Setanta Ireland as it’s only female interviewer in the team, broadcasting to 70 different countries,  worked with the IFA interviewing for online videos at their ‘The Big Pitch’ day at Winsor Park stadium and presents Fashionweek TV!, the official online daily coverage at Belfast Fashionweek as well as comparing on stage for all the shows for two seasons now.

Katie regularly presents at local events and hosted the 2011 Chinese New Year celebrations again this year at St. Georges market in front of 5000 people, compared chef’s demonstrations at the Kings Hall Food Festival chatting with them while they cooked, co-hosted the prestigious Magner’s Light Ulster Tatler’s Style Awards 2011 with Cool FM’s Pete Snodden, and has been invited to judge at this years Miss Northern Ireland contest as well as comparing the heat at the world famous NW200 with BBC’s Steve Parish, hosted at the world famous Hillsborough Oyster Festival with MTV’s John Kearns, Specsaver’s ‘Spectacle Wearer of The Year Competition’s regional Northern Irish final and the prestigious Balmoral Agricultural Show’s Best Dressed Lady competition.
Katie has been made an ambassador and spokesperson for the Unite Against Hate campaign in Northern Ireland since they set up and is currently on their new billboard campaign alongside local footballer and boxing stars, which launched at Stormont Buildings. She is also the face of the official George Best Foundation and In 2011 was made a Patron for Cool FM’s ‘Cash For Kids’ charity and has just completed her first duty at their annual RunHer marathon.  Katie also has her own 2012 calendar out with her profits going to ‘Pretty N Pink’, Northern Ireland’s only registered breast cancer charity.
Katie has gained experience with Northern Visions Community Television which broadcasts in the greater Belfast area, covering events such as The Lord Mayor’s Show, The Rose of Tralee, The Balmoral Agricultural Show, The University of Ulster Art College Degree Show, What Does It Take To Be A Zoopkeeper, fashion features on local designers, backstage at Miss Northern Ireland, The Tall Ships and more.  Through NvTv she also completed a media/journalism course covering all aspects of production from camera and sound to final cut pro as well as being in front of the camera. With experience in both live and pre-record.

ADVENTURE TRAINING

Katie has been determined to push herself to the limits having enjoyed many physically challenging adventure training activities. These include; white water rafting on the Nile on star rapids, survival weekends skills, abseiling, rock climbing, helicopter rides, kayaking and mountain leadership qualifications, skiing, clay pigeon shooting, driving a 4 ton truck on old airfields, skydiving in Hawaii in superhero costumes.  Katie was part of a team who went to Jinga in Uganda in 2006  to dig a well.  They also went on trekking expeditions and chewed on sugarcane as sweets along the way and here she even learnt to bricklay!  Setting up camp on the banks of Lake Victoria, with the toilet a hole in the ground and the shower a bucket and pulley system, the girls washed their hair daily in the lake itself and despite the lack of access to her wardrobe, make-up and creature-comforts, she survived!

TRAVEL

As you can see, Katie is very well travelled, (having taken a gap year after graduating with a Fine Art Degree from the University of Ulster), and has seen all the continents as a back packing student and also in city breaks, as well as visiting places of culture, sight seeing the hot spots, museums and art galleries, her inquisitive mind has taken her off the beaten track.  She loves to explore! Highlights have been the Turkish baths in the historic Gellhert Hotel in Budapest, wandering around Pompeii, sailing into the port of Malta, shopping in the Souks of Morocco and Tunisia, the Red Light district in Amsterdam, road trip down Australia (please take out the crown casino one, winning money in Vegas, visiting both the Pyramids and Luxor’s Valley of The kings in Egypt, wine tasting in vineyards in the Loire Valley, listening to live music in Cuba, Christmas markets in Prague, bathing in healing springs in Hakone outside Tokyo, viewing the Last Supper in Milan, watching the F1 racing from the pits in Monaco, modeling a million dollar wedding dress in Dubai, the Kremlin in Russia, Hong Kong, New York, seeing Klimt’s Kiss In Vienna, visiting temples in Singapore, having a Renaissance tour in Florence, visiting the Primitive artists on Tory Island and being greeted by the King himself, Gaudi’s surreal architecture and public parks in Barcelona, the Hermitage in Russia, Irish dancing on tour in North Dakota, and camping in the desert in Oman with her cousins in freezing temperatures and being brought camel milk and dates for breakfast by local Bedouin people.

ART

Katie is naturally artistic, and loves all the arts.  As an art student Katie was as a volunteer working in the Ulster Museum, cataloguing and putting up exhibitions.  She spent time in all their departments including history and science, print, photography, fashion, taxidermy, geology, sculpture, glass, contemporary art, Irish and British painting, war memorabilia and archaeology.  Other impressive gallery visits include the Getty Centre in LA, the Guggenheim in New York, the Pompidou Centre in Paris.  She wrote an art and culture column for City newspaper and has one for a hot hot hot local social monthly in the pipeline!

MODELLING

Finally, as a model she has been the face of numerous events and products including Easyjet, Diet Coke, 3Mobile, House of Fraser, Northern Ireland Tourist Board and Tayto Crisps. As well as numerous TV advertisements and press campaigns, Katie launched the newly opened Agent Provocateur store in Belfast was the face of West Coast Cooler Belfast Fashion Week 2009 including a massive billboards campaign.  2011 saw shoot a spread for VIP magazine in Portugal, be the first Northern Irish cover girl of STELLAR magazine, and do a shoot for NoH8 campaign in LA, and become a columnist for ‘Getting Married In Northern Ireland’ magazine.

Katie was Natalie Portman’s body double whilst filming ‘Your Highness’ for Universal Studios in Belfast, had a lead role in the short film ‘Chemistry’ due out on Valentine’s Day showing at QFT, and just finished a number of roles in her second series of BBC’s Sketchy comedy show with Diarmuid Corr.

Katie won FHM’s last ever Honey competition out of 14,000 entrants, Irish sports website Joe.ie crowned Katie as a ‘National Treasure’ in their online magazine and to top the year off was voted ‘Northern Ireland’s Most Glamorous Couple’ with boyfriend Irish golfer Harry Diamond as well as following previous title holders Zoe Salmon and Nadine Coyle by winning 'Northern Ireland's Most Glamorous Female' at Northern Ireland’s best selling social monthly IN! magazine awards.
